Cost Share Program

The Program aims to reduce non-point source pollution in streams and surface water by providing technical and financial assistance for the implementation of best management practices on agricultural operations.

Reimbursement Rates

90% of project expenses for agricultural improvements

100% of project expenses for watershed improvements

Eligible Practices

Animal mortality facility, animal walkways, waste storage facility, heavy use area protection, grassed waterways, streambank fence, streambank restoration and more!

Injecting manure allows the nutrients from the manure to be utilized efficiently and effectively while also decreasing soil and nutrient contamination to local waterways. This program is intended to incentivize agricultural operators interested in trying manure injection at a lower cost.

Manure Injection Incentive Program

Agricultural landowners/operators may qualify for reimbursement for more than one agricultural plan up to a maximum amount of $6,000 per landowner/operator. The maximum reimbursement per plan is $1,500 or 80% of the cost of the plan, whichever is lower. A 20% match will be required from the participating landowner/operator.

REAP

The Resource Enhancement and Protection Program (REAP) is designed to enhance farm production and protect natural resources by enabling farmers, landowners, and businesses to earn Pennsylvania state income tax credits in exchange for implementing “Best Management Practices” (BMPs). Eligible applicants receive 50%-90% of out-of-pocket project costs in the form of state tax credits.
